1xBet and Safety for People on the Move awarded the Driver of the Month winner in June

Starting in April 2024, the global betting company 1xBet and the public organization Safety for People on the Move launched the Smart Driver of the Month project. It aims to increase safety on the roads of Zambia. Thanks to an active campaign in social networks and media support, the project attracts great attention to road safety issues.

On July 3, Memori Sibongile Phiri, the June stage competition winner, was awarded on the Breakfast show on Prime television Zambia Live.

Memori Sibongile Phiri answered 5 questions about the traffic rules correctly, had no problems with her driver’s license, and did not violate the regulations. As a prize, she received 10,000 ZMW.

We interviewed Memori Sibongile Phiri.
– How did you learn about the competition?
– I saw questions on the 1xBet social media and decided to try my luck because 10,000 ZMW is big money for me.
– Who is better at driving a car – men or women?
– The facts speak in favor of women. First, we have won the competition stages twice in a row. Second, we show more patience in difficult road situations than men. Third, women are much less likely to get behind the wheel being drunk.

– What would you say to women wanting to participate in future contests?
– Don’t hold back; try it, and you will succeed.
– How will you spend the money?
– First, I will buy Arthur Ford perfume and give it to my mother for her birthday.
– Can you give any tips for safe driving?
– There are only three of them. Don’t talk on your cell phone while driving, don’t drink alcohol before getting behind the wheel, and always wear your seat belts.

The issue of road safety in Zambia is still critical. Over the long weekend alone, 319 traffic accidents were recorded, killing 27 people and seriously injuring another 78.

The 1xBet representative, Ans Kafupi, commented on the current situation:

“27 deaths in 4 days is a disaster. As a responsible company, 1xBet cannot ignore the country’s problems. We advocate not only for responsible gaming but also for safe driving. We hope our program will reduce the number of road accidents in Zambia and save thousands of lives.”

Smart Driver of the Month not only decreases accidents but also helps create a society where everyone understands their responsibility for road safety. This project is a shining example of how corporate social responsibility can positively impact people’s lives and solve major issues.
