Atletico Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in Spain’s top flight when they welcome Real Betis to the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.
Diego Simeone’s side were held to a 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo on Tuesday, while Betis will enter the match off the back of an impressive 3-0 success at home to Osasuna.

A 1-1 draw last time out extended Atlético’s unbeaten streak to 13 La Liga (LL) games (W7, D6), and means all six draws during that period saw both teams score. They’ve now netted before HT in four of their last five games, although there’s been a goalless first half in the previous four H2Hs (W2, D1, L1).

Atlético are enjoying a nine-game unbeaten LL run at home (W7, D2), and have won eight of the nine league matches here in which they scored first (D1). Real Betis’ 3-0 win in midweek ended their three-game winless run (D1, L2), but with a paltry 5% win rate as an outsider this LL campaign (W1, D7, L12) they look up against it here. Furthermore, they’ve lost nine of the 11 league matches in which they conceded the opener this season (W1, D1, L9).

The visitors are winless in their last ten LL away games (D5, L5), netting an average of just 0.80 goals per fixture across that period. They have, however, scored 35.71% of their LL away goals in the opening 15 minutes, but despite that they’ve led at HT just once on the road (HT: W1, D9, L7)

Betis put in a strong performance against Osasuna in their last match, but there are not many more tougher grounds to visit than the Wanda Metropolitano. Atletico will be keen to return to winning ways after sharing the points with Celta, and we are expecting a narrow home victory on Saturday night.
