BETTING UGANDA BetPawa increases its African betting footprint with Uganda federation deal 4 weeks ago Szarlot Post Views: 131 The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) and BetPawa have partnered in a deal that will cover the FUFA Drum, the Big League and the Futsal League. At the launch of the partnership, FUFA president Magogo Moses Hassim , flanked by FUFA executive committee member Rogers Byamukama in charge of marketing, said: “At the Federation, we take hard decisions and this is another one. I am proud that we come into partnership with betPawa for three items; FUFA Big League, FUFA Drum and Futsal Association Uganda (FAU). I make this appeal to the public that this is our Country, it is our game. Let us support those who identify with our sport.” The terms of the deal were not disclosed but the agreement is reportedly worth Shs1.2b ($320,000) to FUFA. The latest partnership forms part of the growing footprint across the continent of BetPawa, a betting operator operating out of Rwanda with a presence in 11 African countries, including Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia and Tanzania. BetPawa sponsors Ghana’s top flight and The Nation reported that the Rwandan betting operator also was interested in sponsoring the African Super League, launched as the African Football League. “I am impressed on how organised FUFA is. I know what I am talking about is very small but it is very important. Having a partner from outside means that you have a value that stretches out of Uganda.” – said Managing Director at Mchezo Africa Ntoudi Moutelo. BetPawa claim that their primary focus is the ‘development of football in Uganda’.
