Betway, the title sponsor of the Betway Premiership, has unveiled a new agreement with the Premier Soccer League (PSL). The new agreement will revolve around safer gambling and comes in time for National Responsible Gambling Month. Betway Will Double Down on RG During National Responsible Gambling Month As part of the agreement with the largest soccer property in South Africa, Betway has always supported and promoted safer gambling and gambling education. November, which has been recognized as National Responsible Gambling Month, will provide the company with an opportunity to double down on its efforts to teach players to exercise moderation. The Betway Premiership and the PSL will therefore increase the responsible gambling messaging throughout November and feature the Bet Responsibly message throughout all marketing materials. The Betway Premiership November fixtures will also see Betway leverage its existing partnerships with prominent brand ambassadors to double down on the promotion of safer gambling in the region. Betway is no stranger to safer gambling and was recently awarded the Best Responsible Gambling Operator Messaging and Marketing Campaign accolade at a gala dinner, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF). South Africa Recognizes the Importance of Playing Responsibly As for the current commitment, PSL and Betway executives participated in a media briefing, announcing their desire to shield players from gambling harm. The meeting was attended by PSL chair Dr Irvin Khoza, Betway CEO Laurence Michel and SARGF executive director Sibongile Simelane-Quntana. Michel said that his team is proud to sponsor the Betway Premiership while championing safer gaming in South Africa. The new partnership with the PSL reiterates this commitment, aligning with Betway’s objective of encouraging responsible gambling across all its platforms. “We therefore reiterate our messaging of Bet Responsibly to all football fans and our customers during the month of November and beyond.” – say Laurence Michel, CEO, Betway Simelane-Quntana also commented on the matter, praising Betway and the PSL’s joint efforts to encourage safer play.
