EXPERTS Blockchain& crypto future of igaming in Africa 4 years ago Samuel Post Views: 1,198 Blockchain and Crypto is for Africa and Africa must take advantage of it to close the gap in the industrial and economic advancement between the African continent and the rest of the world. While the adoption is on the rise in the gaming industry Africa online bookmakers should take full advantage of this technology and with report of companies utilizing decentralize ledger technology (DLT) across the continent are emerging. Several stakeholders in the African blockchain scene say (DLT) is the key to solving the developmental issues plaguing the continent. Therefore, in the last few years, African nations have seemingly looked to china as a model of how a country can rise from poverty to become a global economic power. However, recently some of the African nations are taking a giant stride to regulate blockchain and crypto. For example Nigeria government sets its sight on decentralized technology as reported according to speaker of Nigeria house of representative said a concrete legislative frame work should be in place for crypto and blockchain regulation in Nigeria this has set the tone for other African countries to follow suite except for South Africa which is one of the country in Africa that has taking full advantage of blockchain and crypto technology in the gaming ecosystem. However, it is right about time that online bookmakers in Africa introduce blockhain and cryptos enable technology to the gaming platforms. In 2018 according to data from Google trends shows that Lagos Nigeria ranks as the number one city based on the volume of online searches for bitcoin, while this data may indicate a high level of interest among the city’s approximately 21 million people. Therefore one of the significant barriers to mainstream adoption in Africa is convenience, if you build it, they will come, but may work in western world but it’s an unreliable strategy for deploying solutions in Africa. As an African, we are really attracted to convenience so a better approach will be to provide a greater users experience and to promote users adoption to blockchain solutions. Digital currency is the future, sooner or later it will become gold that everyone as being seeking for, the future starts now.
