And while the islands official languages are French and Arabic, though English is widely used for business. The nation’s economy is driven by hunting, fishing and forestry. Furthermore, Comoros is made up of four main islands namely, Grande Comore, Anjouan,Moheli and Mayotte as well as a number of smaller ones, the total estimated population is 850,688, and while the land mass is 2,612 km2 and the major religion in the country is Sunni Islam, and it is estimated that 98% of the population. Moreover, the residents are unique in the sense that Islam is predominant religion and the country’s legal system is partially an Islamic law, yet gambling is legal. However, all forms of gambling is legal in the Comoros namely, land-based and online Casinos, Online Poker, Online Sport betting, and Online Lottery, though only the one licensed by the state. The Comoros is also one of the few African countries where online gambling is legal and regulated, under the Computer Gambling Licensing Act of 1999 passed on the island of Anjouan, the country also allows online gambling companies to operate from within the country, as long as they have obtained a gambling license. Furthermore, the Betting and Gaming Act of 2005 in this country put the Anjouan Corporate Service LTD In charge of handling licenses and everything to do with the gaming industry. All licenses are issued by Anjouan Corporate Service, the office of government of Anjouan that is responsible for issuing banking, online gaming, brokerage, finance, insurance license, National Ant-money laundering Regulations, unusual transaction Act, Counter-terrorism, financing regulations and know your customers policies are applicable to all Comoros gambling companies. As part of its duties the Anjouan Corporate Service monitors gaming business and financial service to insure that they operate according to the standards and regulations of the government of Comoros. However, the Comoros internet stats according to Internet world Stats account to 15.3% of internet penetration, while 130,578 users in 2019 and the growth of internet users from 2000-2019 is 8,605% growth. Furthermore, Comoros gambling markets account for 10% of the gambling activity in Africa, second largest behind South Africa in the casinos segment.
