A clash of gargantuan proportions takes place in the group of death on Tuesday night, as 2018 World Cup winners France prepare to meet the 2014 champions Germany at Euro 2020 in Munich. This will be Joachim Löw’s last tournament in charge of the German national team who were humiliated 6-0 by Spain in November, and in March lost 2-1 at home to North Macedonia (#62). The H2H history makes for worrying reading too, as the ‘Mannschaft’ are winless in five meetings with France (D2, L3) – including a semi-final defeat in Euro 2016 – with four of those featuring a 1-0 HT scoreline either way.
