Gambling machines destroyed in Kenya

26 gambling machines valued at over 700,000 shillings were destroyed following a raid by security teams in Garissa.

When speaking to the press at the Garissa landfill, Merissa Mwangi, Commissioner of Garissa County, stated that the machines were rounded up in December last year and January this year.

Two years ago, Home Secretary Fred Matiang’i directed regional and regional commissioners to eradicate illegal gambling activities.

The CS ordered raids on premises and the seizure of unlicensed slot machines.
