A non-governmental organisation, Street to School Initiative, has cautioned students against involvement in cybercrime and sports betting, saying it could derail their future.

Olowoyeye-Taiwo lamented that young people at the grassroots were getting lured by the flamboyant lifestyles of some fraudulent Internet influencers.

“A child that wins money through betting will always want to go back and make more money. Parents must understand that they have to be good examples. They must be good role models at home,” – she said.

“As the workforce rapidly transforms due to advancements in technology and shifts in global demands, it’s crucial for students to understand and prepare for these changes. Through a series of interactive sessions, expert talks, and hands-on workshops, we aim to equip students with knowledge about emerging industries, critical skills, and innovative career paths.”
