BILLIARD Ibrahim Ssejjemba bounces back to defend the E-play Africa annual Billiard championship 2021 3 years ago Fahad Luyzburg Post Views: 5,383 Uganda’s top seeded player a one Sejjemba Ibrahim aka MAYWEATHER managed to put back his awful recent form to win the E-paly Africa billiard annual championship 2021 at the Amigoz pool Arena in Kampala. To achieve this victory the calm but lethal 21yr old has overcomed the 63 participants and final defeated a one Lubulwa Simon aka COMPUTER with the final scores 7-6 in a tightly contested decider. After a walkover victory in round 1, Ibra had the challenge of the Legendary Fahad Ssewankambo whom he defeated 5-3. He next outclassed Vincent Ssekibuule 5-0 in the last 16. This was an indirect statement of class against his nemesis Mansoor Bwanika, who had been eliminated by the same Vincent in the round of 32. The quarter final victim was Habib Ssebuguzi who came so close, but still lost 5-4. Youngster Yudah Ssembuusi could only win 2 against Ibra in a race to 6 Semi final. On the opposite side of the draw, Simon “Computer” Lubulwa was in tip top form, sweeping away all his opponents in ruthless fashion from round 1 to the Semis. At this stage, he was the best player in the tournament; till he faced Ibra. Simon had a slow start in the final, giving away a 3-0 lead, which against Ibra is criminal. Simon recomposed himself back into the match amidst ululation from his fans; drawing 6-6 and taking the match in a decider. When opportunity came, Ibra found his groove back to sweep the table; the rest is now history. Fans expected Sembusi Yudah aka Demba Ba to put up a challenge with Ibra but they got disappointed only for Ibra to win 6-2 & sail to the final. The FINAL was worth waiting for as he played a on form attacking player seed 11 Uganda Lubulwa Simon aka COMPUTER. The games actually did not disappoint as there were many great plays from the different players, The championship attracted veteran, upcoming, experienced, average, young & old players. Because of the above, different plays were displayed that kept the fans on their toes. NOTE: Sembusi Yudah knocked out the newly signed E-play Africa Billiard player a one Bwire Mustapha at the quarter finals with the scores 5:3 which led Demba Ba to face Sejjemba at the semi Finals.
