Still undefeated in the league and on the back of four consecutive wins, Serie A champions Juventus host improving Atalanta BC on Wednesday night in Turin. Both teams sealed qualification for the Champions League last 16 a week ago and each followed up the feat by registering a comprehensive league win at the weekend.

Juventus ended the last Serie A (SA) gameweek in fourth place, despite recording a commanding 3-1 win vs Genoa. Yet, they are still unbeaten in the league this term across their completed matches (W5, D5), with all three home wins in that sequence seeing the champions score exactly twice in the final 15 minutes of regular time in either half.

If including awarded matches, Juventus have taken 63 of the last 72 points available at home (W20, D3, L1), though they netted in both halves in just one of the last five completed matches in that sequence. Despite this minor annoyance, the ‘Bianconeri’ have scored over 1.5 goals in each of their last 13 completed SA home wins.

Atalanta enter this clash with a 50% draw rate from SA matches entered as betting outsiders since the start of 2019/20 (W2, D5, L3). Their SA away games have particularly entertained us, with the four won/lost (W3, L1) producing over 2.5 goals (with both teams scoring) but none at all between the 70th minute and FT! Only one of those victories saw Atalanta win in both halves.

Though their campaign to date has been disappointing, Atalanta have led 1-0 at HT in both of their last two SA visits to Juventus, drawing each game. Another point here would be an encouraging sign for them, though in practice, Atalanta have lost the second half by a one-goal margin in four of their last five SA away H2Hs.
