BenQ and Real Elia came in second and third, walking away with Ksh 500,000 and Ksh300, 000 respectively. Khaligraph congratulated Katapila for winning the rap challenge and being the newest millionaire in town. Speaking after being declared the winner, a jovial Katapila said, “Thank you for the fans who voted for me. This is a life changing achievement and I would urge Kenyans to continue listening to hip-hop,” Meanwhile, on July 19, 2021, Khaligraph partnered with Odibets through their Odimtaani initiative to launch the “Odinare” challenge. The challenge aimed to uplift talented rappers who are struggling to come up in the Kenyan music industry. The challenge saw rappers from all walks of life submit videos rhyming to the phrase Odinare as they aimed to win the grand prize of Ksh1 million. Speaking to Journalist during the event, Odibets Country Marketing manager Aggrey Sayi said that the challenge was meant to motivate rappers, letting them know that they are appreciated and that music was an art and everyone who had participated was a winner. “I believe everyone here is a winner, your determination, zeal and energy is what has brought us here today,” – said Sayi. Meanwhile, last week, the leading sports betting firm Odibets also launched a one-of-a-kind promo dubbed “Omoka an EPL” for their customers for the new football season. Customers can become instant winners Odibets as English Premier League returns. Popularly referred to in sheng as “ile ya ma-ordinare” (for the ordinary person), Odibets has to allow punters to win big from just placing their bets on the Odibets platform during the EPL 2021/22 period that starts on August 13, 2021, to May 22, 2022. Customers will be required to place cash bets on at least one or more EPL football games using a stake of 50 or more shillings; this is set to see several bettors on their website walk away with numerous cash prizes from just placing bets. They will automatically enter into the draw that will enable them to win various daily and weekly prizes, and winners will receive their different tips (cash) credited to their Odibets’ accounts. The rewards are as follows daily 500 winners of Sh500 each, weekly five winners of Sh20 000 each, and two grand winners of Sh1 million each. It is pretty astonishing that the company has been embarking on a CSR project under the Odimtaani initiative support for grassroots sports development and supporting different sectors of the economy.
