Lottoland has reported that it has reached 20 million customers worldwide. This milestone reflects significant growth over the past five years, as the company doubled its customer base from 10 million in 2019. Currently active in 15 markets, Lottoland has added 2.5 million new customers over the past year alone. The company credits its expansion to a diversified portfolio of global lottery offerings, including large-scale instant jackpots and international draws. A key contributor to its recent growth has been the introduction of KenoGo, which features the world’s largest Keno jackpot. The product has experienced 15% monthly growth since its launch, with total winnings exceeding $100m. In August 2024, Lottoland submitted a licence application to enter Brazil’s federally regulated market, aiming to expand its presence in Latin America. The company has reported year-on-year growth in the region and anticipates continued expansion following regulatory approval. Lottoland has also reportedly prioritised sustainability and community support. The company has been certified as carbon-neutral for the third consecutive year, reporting a 25-tonne reduction in carbon emissions during 2023. Good to know: Internally, Lottoland has adopted artificial intelligence to streamline customer service. The company’s AI chatbot, Lopetto, has reduced customer service agent hours by 3,600 and increased customer retention rates by 27% in markets such as Germany, Austria and Brazil Additionally, Lottoland Cares, an initiative launched in South Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to support community and wildlife projects. In Malta, the operator has renewed its financial support for the Wildlife Rescue Team, funding a new rehabilitation centre for injured animals. CEO Nigel Birrell commented: “Back in 2013, Lottoland was the first company in the sector to have established its own insurance model which allowed us to continuously offer something exciting for our customers, with new products and record-breaking jackpots.” Lottoland’s latest developments follow its ongoing engagement with regulatory challenges, including discussions in Ireland over the Gambling Regulation Bill 2022. The company has raised concerns about the legislation’s potential impact on its operations and revenue.
