EXPERTS NIGERIA Multiple taxations suffocating Nigerian businesses 4 months ago Szarlot Post Views: 165 The Managing Director of Woskybet, Ismaila Atus, has stated that multiple taxations from the government are suffocating businesses in the country. Atus said it was unfortunate that both states and the federal government are taxing businesses, in the country, especially betting firms exorbitantly. In a statement on Monday ahead of the launch of Woskybet in Abuja on 4 October, Atus stated that through betting, most Nigerians had made fortunes and have gotten employment. He said: “The multiple taxations from state governments and the federal government are really suffocating businesses in the country and coupled with the fact that the economy is really struggling.” The government is looking at it from the perspective of the population and they know that people are out there to make money desperately. “You too as a company you are desperate to make money, and that is the fake life we live in this country. The government taxes the company and the company, in turn put all the taxes on the subscribers. The regulations are not effective.” “At the moment we have created about 100 employments. And because it is a large work, we have to manage people’s wallets.” “Also, you need to have a department for operation that manages gains. We have a lot of staff members that we have employed.” Atus also welcomed the Supreme Court ruling which empowered states with betting companies to issue licenses. He added: “It is not about the National Lottery Commission again. We have in Lagos, Cross River, Imo, Oyo States that give licenses. All you have to do is to upgrade the system. For you to obtain a license, it shows that you have passed the test.” While speaking on what Nigerians should expect from the company, Atus said: “Woskybet offers an unparalleled betting experience, featuring: Competitive odds and generous bonuses, extensive coverage of international and local sports events, real-time score updates and live betting, secure payment systems and instant payouts and dedicated customer support.” “Woskybet is committed to providing a safe, secure, and thrilling betting experience for Nigerian sports enthusiasts.” Source: punchng.com About Post Author Szarlot I am a fan of casino games especially roulette and blackjack.
