National Bank of Rwanda grants Virtual Pay authorisation

Virtual Pay International Limited has been licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) to operate as a Payment Services Provider SP) in Rwanda. This licensing and authorisation is in accordance to regulation 05/2018 of 27/03/2018 governing PSPs.

The Virtual Pay International CEO, David Morema Obangi, while noting the milestone, said “With this license, Virtual Pay will be able to leverage on Rwanda’s well capitalised financial services market and rapid growth of the Ecommerce payment system to enable e-commerce through our payment gateway and deploying POS systems, facilitating aggregation of payments for banks, businesses, public institutions and the general public in the Republic of Rwanda, while keeping in compliance with the regulations of the National Bank of Rwanda.”

The green light to operate as a PSP in Rwanda will offer the company’s clients and merchants an opportunity to have greater convenience and safety in their transactions, as they keep in step with the increasingly digital shift being experienced across the globe.
