OdiBets Signed Charles Odongo as Brand Ambassador

Odibets, a Kenya-based sports betting company under its OdiMtaani initiative geared towards supporting sports development programs in Kenya, extends its sponsorship program to Charles Odongo “Ugali Man”.

Its latest development adds to the long list of its achievement in supporting talent for the sport that need the necessary support to reach that height of competing in the global stage. The company recently signed Charles Odongo as brand ambassador the Rongai based gym instructor popularly known as “Ugali Man.’

In the ceremony unveiling this past Tuesday at Sarova Stanley Nairobi in an event that was attended by local media personalities was awarded a brand new car and a Ksh5 million cheque, in addition Odongo received a brand new seven seater Voxy van, a fully-kitted gym and a cash boost to support his fitness business and sporting career. The partnership with Odibets also includes a package for his cat, Puss Puss. Speaking at the event Odongo thanked Odibets for the support he had received and declared. “I will support my fellow youth from Rongai just the same way Odibets has supported me.”

This collaboration is part of Odi Mtaani, a grassroots talent development initiative by Odibets.

“Odibets believes that more funding is needed towards the development of talent for sports at the grassroots. Odibet is one of the biggest sports betting companies in Kenya. The brand representative of Odibets vowed, “that it will continue to support unique talent such as Charles popularly known “Ugali Man” who is committed to his fitness career in a passionate way. We believe there are thousand of hidden and promising talents in the country that can be nurtured. Kenyans can be assured of our commitment on initiatives that provide access and opportunities for all,”

– said Dedan Mungai, Odibets General Manager.

According to the company, Odibets has invested over Ksh500 million to boost sports development through its kitting program, county sports sponsorship, and grassroots soccer competitions. Odibets has also supported Kenya’s national soccer team, Harambee Stars, and 100m sprinter, Ferdinand Omanyala who recently qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

“We are at a stage where we believe that the Odi Mtaani initiative can be more meaningful to Kenyans by expanding it to capture other talents beyond mainstream sporting activities such as soccer, athletics and more. We hope that our partnership with Charles, the “Ugali Man,” will inspire more Kenyans to showcase their unique talents and be bold enough to just try. The digital space for example is giving talented people a platform to flourish. We believe these spaces are ideal for talent development,” – said Mr. Mungai.

Odibets will continue to support talent at the grassroots via OdiMtaani as a platform for local and community-driven sports development and recreation. However, this is quite an interesting approach from the company as part of their CSR program, an example for other sports betting companies in Kenya and Africa, in general, to follow suit by giving back to the community.
