RB Leizpig host Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday, with Julian Nagelsmann’s side able to move five points within league leaders Bayern Munich with a victory. Augsburg, meanwhile, have lost five of their last six games to plummet down the table.

Title-chasers RB Leipzig welcome Augsburg after just one league defeat in their last five (W3, D1, L1), with all three wins coming ‘to nil’, in addition to scoring the opener in all five. So far this season, they’ve conceded a league-low of 17 goals and kept a league-high ten clean sheets.

Six of these ten clean sheets came at home (W8, D1, L1), whilst they have conceded multiple goals at home just once in the league all season. Though Leipzig are yet to lose a first half at home (HT: W5, D5), their last four home league games have produced 0-0 a HT scoreline.

On a run of nine league games without a draw (W3, L6), Augsburg saw the eventual winner score first in eight of these. A club-high ten defeats at this stage of the season (W6, D4, L10) saw them concede first in nine of those, although they did at least open the scoring in all six wins.

The guests haven’t won a first half in their last eight away Bundesliga games since opening day (HT: D6, L2), although their last five road trips have at least produced HT draws. A low-scoring affair is likely as Augsburg’s away league matches have produced the second-lowest average of total goals this season (2.44 goals), but five of nine saw both teams score.
