Speaking at the official opening, in ceremony held in Best Western Hotel, Asaba, Mr Jeffrey Odumah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), lauded the Delta Government for providing conducive environment for private businesses to thrive. He said that the company was a unique brand with features that provides comfort for all classes of persons to play and win in a more conducive atmosphere than what obtains in other similar company. According to him, the betting game is legal and as a multimillion naira business, creates opportunities for players to make money, keep people away from crime and create jobs for many. He said that the choice of establishing the business first in Asaba was due to the existing peace in the state and government disposition to supporting private investors. “Though we might be starting local but our plan is to go global, we want people to make money, we want to grow the economy and create jobs. Betting is legal, but here people see betting as a game for the poor but in the United Kingdom, everybody bets,” – he said. He said that the development of RedsonBet was to attract new people into betting market by providing a similar environment as in the UK and other advance countries of the World where people bet unlike the harsh environment that exist in other brands here in Nigeria. He, however, he berated the current poor powers supply in the country, adding that every business need adequate infrastructures, and that most of its partners face the challenge of elliptic power supply. On his part, Mr Adeyinka Soga-Oke, Head of Operations, said though the business started in Asaba, the company has partners (Agents) in Warri, Ughelli, Onitsha and Benin City in Edo. “Our shops are like banks, it provides all the comfort for people to come in, play and make money in conducive environments,” – he said. Mr Rajendra Rowthu, Chief Operation Officer, said that the brand was unique and that as a betting company it was not afraid to face the competition and associated challenges. He lauded the positive disposition and support from Nigerians, saying “I feel at home in Nigeria as if I am in India”.
