Third will welcome first in Spain’s top flight on Friday night as the reigning champions Barcelona head to Sevilla for what looks set to be a fascinating battle at the Estadio Ramon.

Sevilla have picked up four points from their two La Liga matches since returning to action on June 11, while Barca have collected six from a possible six to consolidate their spot at the top of the table.

Sevilla may be unbeaten in six La Liga (LL) games (W3, D3), but the three draws during that period must feel like losses considering they netted the opener – and then conceded an equaliser in the same half – in each one. In fact, they’ve also netted the opener in four straight league H2Hs at this venue, but won just once (W1, D1, L2). Barcelona’s 2-0 win in midweek was their third victory in a row, and their fifth consecutive LL game where just one side scored.

They’ve now been leading at half-time in 70% of their LL wins this term, as well as two of the last three league H2Hs.I expect a tight match between the two hence big hope for both teams to conced a goal from another.
