Both leading companies in their sector SportyBet and Real Madrid, have signed a multi-year partnership agreement covering the African region. SportyBet brand is one of the top gaming firms in Africa, which has a presence in different markets, such as Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, and Tanzania. SportyBet is widely recognized as an innovative brand, delivering a high-quality mobile user experience featuring high performance and easy-to-use mobile applications. Allowing Sporty customers to live-stream and bet on the broadest range of sports content, including English Premier League, LaLiga and Real Madrid match. Sporty Group’s strategic partnership with Real Madrid will enable the creation of unique and exciting entertainment, experience, and promotions for football fans across the continent. Although no financial details or terms of the agreement were disclosed; however, Real Madrid added its first partner in Africa for the first time. This allows the betting company to become the first regional sponsor of Real Madrid on the continent. Even though the recently created veto over the sponsorship of bookmakers in Spanish sports, clubs can override it as long as they are regional sponsors in other countries, given that the activation is not in Spain allows the club to partner with Sporty Group. However, Sportybet joins a group of regional sponsors of twelve national and foreign companies among Spanish companies. This new partnership is a landmark deal for the betting company partnering with one of the European giants, which maintains business alliance with Fonbet in Russia, Invex Banco in Mexico, KOK Sports, and PT Dua Kelinci in Asia. Completing the list are two multinational companies: Cocoa-Cola and PlayStation, Real Madrid’s sponsorship list is topped by Emirates, its leading partner, and Adidas, as its technical sponsor in second place, as global partners, Nivea, Audi, Hankook, Mahou, EA Sports, Easy Markets, Boss, Palladium Hotel Group and Meatless Farm stand out and Therabody, where Sportybet joins the list of this company as a strategic partner to Real Madrid. Interestingly, we have also seen another major player in the Africa gaming industry, PremierBet, partnering with an Italian giant AC Milan and Benfica, to promote the brand in Africa due to these clubs’ massive fanbase in the continent. This strategic partnership by different betting companies in Africa is a testament that gaming and the betting industry are experiencing immersed growth and revenue over the years. The potentials it possesses in the next couple of years are pretty astonishing, attracting numerous investors and local entrepreneurs in the ecosystem, which is expected to experience 44 per cent of young digital natives connected to the internet by 2025. The gaming industry is right positioned to benefit from these potentials.
