The incident came to light through a post shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The report has since been confirmed by the police in a video statement that detailed the crime. A police officer who spoke on the matter disclosed the names and ages of the suspects, identifying them as Tomisin, 35, and Yaya, 23. He revealed that the duo were arrested in Ogun State for committing corporate fraud while working at a lifestyle hospitality company. “We want to use this case to speak to our young ones and those who are heavily involved in betting,” – the officer said. “Operatives arrested Tomisin, 35, and Yaya, 23, in Ogun State. They were arrested for a corporate fraud involving ₦300 million at their place of employment.” He further explained that efforts to recover the stolen funds had been unsuccessful, as investigations revealed that a large portion of the money had been transferred to their personal accounts and spent on expensive gambling. “They stole the money from their company and used that huge amount for gambling,” – he added.
